Fun-loving, confident, thoughtful, curious, generous, tactile, creative, capable; happy to turn my hand to most things & love a challenge! On the downside (I’m very aware of my ‘bad points 😆) I’m a perfectionist so am hard on myself as well as others!
I enjoy travelling far afield but keen to explore more of the UK. I lived in the Middle East for 5 years; an amazing experience where I met & made several lifelong friends from various continents. I also spent time as a volunteer, teaching EFL to young Buddhist monks in Laos - another wonderful experience.
I have a constantly enquiring mind(!) & enjoy history, reading, current affairs, walking, cooking, dining out, theatre, cinema, art, galleries, exhibitions, house renovation/design, playing bridge & of course social get togethers!
I’m a National Trust member & also enjoy helping out with a couple of volunteer jobs locally.
Unfortunately I’m not particularly sporty (apologies), although I would always encourage & support a partner who is. However I have attended a couple of football matches in my life; once at Camp Nou & at West Ham - tho I have no real knowledge of the game or any affiliation!
I’d like to make the most of the rest of my life & would love to share a future with someone special. Sharing fun & laughter, holding hands while enjoying new & interesting experiences & adventures - a whole world awaits!

I should also like to mention (only because some men put ‘non-negotiable’ for people who don’t have children 😢) that I very much wanted children & always imagined I would have them. Sadly it wasn’t to be. However l’m known by family & friends alike for my huge love, fun & affection for children & I would very much look forward to sharing & enjoying any potential partner’s offspring (& hopefully any grandchildren too)!

A great sense of humour is an absolute must! Someone who is outgoing, confident; open and honest. They are kind and caring and always thoughtful and mindful of others. I would prefer to meet someone who is retired - or who at least has plenty of time to travel and enjoy life and not be tied to his job.
I am very independent and not looking for someone to take care of me either physically (tho I do have a pair of dodgy knees 😩) or financially - and would prefer to meet somebody in a similar position (hopefully without the dodgy knees!).
But a like-minded sense of humour always tops my list!
