About her
I am a warm, lively and engaging woman with an intelligent curiosity about people, life and pretty much everything. Although my life (8 yrs in as a widow) is busy and full I am seeking someone to be 'connected' with in that special way that adds meaning and deeper enjoyment to life. As I age into my 70s, it seems that having a clear purpose is increasingly important to my well-being.
In retirement this becomes more challenging perhaps. Navigating this website is very time consuming - I could be swimming, playing the piano, out for a walk, reading, gardening or any number of other activities ..... so, will the effort be worth it?
My main home is in Lincolnshire, but I also have a super apartment on the canal at Kings Cross where I am a few days each week (both homes in easy reach of LNER stations). In town I am keen on theatre, opera, dance, exhibitions and dining out. Back home in the country quite a bit of time is spent on the garden. Radio 4 & 3 preferences. Quite well-travelled, love dramatic landscapes (especially walking in them) and great architecture in cities. Definitely not a beach bunny or a cruise candidate.
I am an always ‘improving’ pianist and currently studying composition. I am a life-long choral singer (in small ensembles these days) and I’m also a Samaritan volunteer on the phone lines each week, a role I find to be deeply rewarding.
A quick and curious mind, lover of meaningful conversation .... not very good at idle chit chat. Not madly gregarious, but value and nurture my friendships.
Professional life was in inner-city regeneration with my final 15 yrs as an independent consultant to central and local government. There was so much to enjoy and achieve, before it all went tits-up with austerity, so I retired with relief about 10 yrs ago now..
