About her
I enjoy reading, writing, listening, traveling, translating, learning languages, creating things with words. I teach, research, and write at a university in South West England, but visit London frequently. My deepest passions are for books, social justice, and trying to do something good in the brief time we have on this earth. I have travelled through most of Europe and much of Asia and the Middle East, and look forward to exploring more.
Given the focus of this site (lovers of arts), I would be interested from hearing from you if you have a suggestion regarding a play or other performance to see that is playing now in London or SW England.

Perhaps this is excessively narrow on my part, but I have a strong preference for academics or writers, e.g. people who spent most of their day doing something with ideas and words. Since this is how I spend my day, if this describes you as well, then our compatibility would be much higher than otherwise. I also think it is quite important that you love your work (work is not the same as career or job even if they are often related). If you love your work, then you will understand how and why literature and writing fill every aspect of my life.
