About her
Let's live a little! My main profile picture was taken in Sept 2022, and the full length photo taken in January 2024. I am independent, long divorced but I don't want to be single for the rest of my life, so here I am, taking the plunge again to find you. I am most at home in the countryside in muddy boots and I like to keep fit, doing online aerobics and walking most days. I don't go to the gym! My cottage is on the borders of the Peak District and Sheffield, but I am not a northerner. I moved to South Yorkshire in 1990 from London to work at the Crucible Theatre, and stayed to put down roots and bring up my children. I had an itinerant RAF childhood and have siblings in the USA and cousins all over the world. I speak good French, rusty German, basic Italian and an incomprehensible smattering of Polish, learned because my daughter-in-law is Polish, and I wanted to be able to say "How much petrol do I need for Warsaw?" I am a Francophile and have always wanted to follow in Rick Stein's footsteps and float down the Canal du Midi cycling off to sample little restaurants en route. I just need the right chap to share this adventure with. Rick is spoken for! I am self-employed and my career is in theatre and tv, but I choose carefully these days. I don't fancy touring, sleeping in dank digs in provincial towns, so stick to tv. My children live near by and I have a beloved grandson who is 7. Apart from my family and walking, I love writing, independent cinema, theatre, music of all kinds, cooking, drawing. reading, restaurants, history, radio 4, country pubs, debate, languages, poetry, museums, exhibitions, country houses, and surprises. I also love my two rescue cats, Minnie and Luna, and have owned dogs.. I would like to travel more, and think I would do that with a partner to go with. So roll up, roll up! Something to see here!

Ideally my future partner will have a sense of humour, be educated, eternally curious, well travelled, fit, confident, enthusiastic, and socially at ease; his "own man" with suggestions of things to do or try, who loves his independence and his family as much as I do mine, but also enjoys great food, wine, the outdoors and the Arts. He might have good old friends that he would like me to meet.
I enjoy occasional large family get-togethers in the UK and abroad, as well as tramping the hills of the Peak District, or travelling away for holidays, weekends in the Lakes, the North Yorks moors, the Dales, Norfolk, Cornwall...or anywhere! I like having friends to stay and it would be great if he enjoyed all these things. Sometimes it is enough to just be together too, quietly pottering in the garden. My guilty pleasure is Masterchef and an addiction to quizzes of all kinds, from the FT Links to Mastermind. I have sisters in the States, and am one of six siblings so hopefully we could travel to see them too. I hope he would understand the closeness I have to my grown up children and my grandson, and if my match were a devoted Dad/grandfather too so much the better!

I'd recommend her to anybody. She's good looking, great company with a terrific sense of humour. She is a great lover of walking and of the theatre, in which she has worked professionally for a long time. She is a loyal friend and can make people laugh till their sides ache.
