Known as purple josh for my love of the colour, even if according to crystal twitchers and shakra-bats this affinity with purple makes me apparently, and I quote 'ungrounded'
Not that I have anything against new age aura junkies and their inane ability to extrapolate meaning from the meaningless...my seemingly intolerant slur on their ilk is merely a turn of phrase and an immediate example of my unfortunate salt-lake-dry humor which I'm afraid may take some getting used to, but if u like to roll your eyes and sigh a lot then I'm the perfect guy for you.
I consider myself fortunate that the things that groove my truffles creatively are also my lines of work. I run a community interest company which offers drum and percussion workshops for a variety of groups and events, as well as playing drums in a musical duo and doing occasional session work.
I'm also a sole trader earning from various carpentry projects.
Other creative outlets include bieng a lyricst/poet, and sometimes painting.
To chill out I like to read although I am a kindle convert so apologies to traditional book readers if that makes me a heathen. Kindle ownership however is about the limit of my involvement when it comes to modern tech.
Favourite telly choices include dry subtle comedies like the detectorists and I also love watching snooker.
With regards to fitness activities I lean towards racket sports as my preference to play.
I am open minded to other people's interests and beliefs and would consider one of my best personality attributes to be empathy. I will always listen to and try to understand another person's point of view. I'm a good listener aswell as a good talker and tend to wear my heart on my sleave.
I'm a recovering alcoholic, nearly a year dry, so drinking isn't really top of the pops for me anymore. Instead I indulge in the pursuit of creative purposes and am looking for someone of a similar constructive mindset.

I'm looking for someone who enjoys creativity, no matter it's form, and i am open to trying new things, e.g. I've always liked the idea of trying ballroom dancing.
First and foremost I'm looking to meet new people whose creative interests can be mutually beneficial to my own, encouraging eachother to explore wholesome and artistic activities. Should a meaningful romantic relationship happen to blossom from one of those new friendships it would be a bonus.
I don't mind if you're outgoing or shy, chatty or quiet, everyone's best qualities manifest themselves differently and that's part of the beauty of getting to know someone. So long as you are kind natured at heart you are worth my time.
While having some shared interests obviously helps, I don't think its essential that they are all completely aligned. I'm not looking to dominate someone's life so think having some individual interests and hobbies is perfectly healthy.
I don't mind if you have kids already, they are just a part of who's made you the person you are today , and I will accept that they will most likely always come first on your priority list.
I'm not the judgemental type, so if you come with your own set of demons you're facing then I accept those and ask only that we can be honest with eachother about them. From this point we can strive to move forward as positively as possible, providing eachother with comfort, strength, and positive influences in the time to come.
Talking of deamons; I'm a recovering alcoholic, so not looking for someone to whome drinking forms a large portion of their life. If you like to drink every now and again that's fine, but if you like to drink regularly I'd probably find that quite hard to be around.
