Hello
I like to think of myself as a considerate, amiable and loyal person who manages to retain a warm sense of fun.
I like reading, mostly literary fiction I suppose (especially Dickens at the moment) but biography, history etc anything really if it is well-written. I am trying to learn French and I also like to take walks in the countryside and to visit historic places. I listen to R4 often
and enjoy Cerys Mathews music show on sundays and er, Jazz FM of course!
I take a passing interest in current affairs. And I remain a remainer.
I have no interest in football, but do follow rugby league quite closely
When driving I do not tail-gate, and never honk my horn in frustration at other drivers however annoying their driving might seem ( I generally find that those doing the honking tend to be the ones in the wrong anyway) I don't want to add to the world's troubles even in a small way if i can avoid it.
Although I cope quite well with my own company, I find it something of a waste. I have no ties (perhaps regrettably) but I'm still of the opinion that we live for others. If I can 'add value' ( I know!) and share happy times with someone of a similar outlook and disposition I would be delighted to do so.
Life is short, so let's get our skates on and I'll see you on the ice!

I don't want someone just for the sake of having a partner, she has to be someone I consider 'special' (although 'just' pleasant company may be special enough!) Someone who has an active interest in the world. Someone who is kind, honest, loyal and non-judgemental. Not someone who is 'hard work', materialistic or mirror-obsessed. I don't mind someone who is a little bit wacky (just not someone who is way off the scale , like Bjork for example!!) Of course, a neck like a swan would be a nice-to-have but isn't a deal-breaker (ha ha!!!) Life is a struggle for most people, and I would like to meet someone who makes the daily battle worth it. I would want to meet someone over a lunchtime coffee quite soon (at a place of your choice) to see if there is any 'chemistry' between us. I think we would only know if we had a true rapport in a face-to-face meeting.
