In His Own Words

About him

I'm a pretty straightforward guy in a roundabout kind of way.

Over the years, I have come to be direct but not intentionally offensive. I don’t necessarily believe in 100% honesty with everyone because, in my experience, that can be a very hurtful attitude; but that doesn’t mean that I like or want to be misleading.
Some people misinterpret an inherently introverted person (like me) as derisively shy or mean because they think being fairly quiet necessarily indicates infinite patience; and, no, I don’t have that.
I do have a keen sense of design and I like my place the way it is. In the past, I have made accommodations for other people and have always regretted it in one way or another.
So, if you see my MCM (Mid Century Modern) home stereo in a bay window, and the first thing you say is, “That would be a great place for a dining room table, and then you could get rid of all those wires!”, it won’t go over well at all.

I also have a lot of friends who are very extroverted, and they are great fun, but I can only handle a little bit of them at a time and the ones who *don’t* remain my friends for very long are the ones who try to fix me by insisting that I should be more extroverted, too.

My affinity for a tiny amount of decorum (I grew up very near the South) does not imply that I don't have strong feelings, opinions, and morals and can rise to almost any occasion; but, hey, I'm only human, not Robin Hood, Prince Charming, Bruce Willis, or someone else's retirement plan (no offense intended).

About his ideal match

Someone kind and intelligent, preferably not too wordy or jaded, with a strong creative streak who reserves judging to the so-called elite athletes with neo-sociopathic tendencies.
