Hi, I'm Laurence,
I'm an expat living in London for 3 yrs,
and travel frequently throughout the UK and Ireland. Marriage and kids are very important, and I am ready for both. Ambitious, organised, punctual, trustworthy; for c. 10 years was Head of a Department of Fine Arts.
However, I'm a practising painter who loves to travel, an artist whose theme - global solidarity - demands movement. Home is everywhere, culture shock an old friend. 2 passports, German & Canadian; 45+ countries and counting.
After London I hope to keep traveling with an adventurous wife, young kids, and big dogs, in a spacious, custom-built expedition motorhome. A fusion of family togetherness and mobility, as per the "sailing families" on the WOMEN & CRUISING blog, except by land. Very comfortable glamping - glam camping - on coastal farmland worldwide, one new country every 4 mo - 2 yrs, over 15 yrs, sojourning slowly enough to make friends and contribute locally. Not looking to settle down permanently until the kids are older.
Too narrow and exact? Most probably. Certainly we'd need to chat, meet, and see if there's chemistry!
But to embrace such "deep travel" long-term, you'd really need to enjoy rural life, farms, & animals. Also: shared homeschooling & innovative childrearing; trekking and camping; coastal exploration and water-sports (sailing, surfing, kayaking, etc.); ocean sunrises & beach sunsets.
Years spent living abroad, and prior culture shock traveling 3rd-world countries, couldn't hurt. Wealth will cushion emergencies, and provide for childminders, tutors, and household help, hired locally. But together we'd aspire to raise children globally.

About his ideal match
YOU: a strong, independent woman, whose religion is kindness. You'd have an equally portable career (e.g. doctor, nurse, vet, writer, photographer, etc.), a GSOH, and a big heart. A "cosmopolitan country gal" open to new cultures, who loves the outdoors & the Arts. Great to boot if you practice yoga/meditation, and value science and math.
A few more thoughts:
I will not care about your race, class-background, income, hair colour, height, fashion sense, nationality, or native language. I'm a militant cosmopolitan, post-national, and post-racist; in this sense, very "Canadian".
But it would be nice if you were reasonably attractive, preferably slim or athletic (I'm athletic), and committed to keeping fit.
If you are pro-Brexit, we will not get along. I am left-of-centre on most issues, right-of-centre on some, and have pro-Remain friends of all stripes, conservative to Marxist.
Spiritually, open to everything. An NDE (a "near-death experience", of the Great White Light) left me tolerantly ecumenical. Even enthusiastic about atheists! Was raised Catholic, but daily yoga & meditations are Hindu/Buddhist.
However: science and evidence-based medicine are extraordinary cultural achievements. So if you are anti-Science and/or very "New Age", we won't get along. For instance, we'd find it hard to raise children together, because I trust western medicine, and think a refusal to vaccinate amounts to child abuse.
If you are still reading this, you may have surmised that I'm an intellectual from hell. Taught and have degrees in Poli-Sci, Philosophy, Religion, + Art, and enjoy debating the same with close friends. I'm a morning person (wake up at 5:30 am), and high-energy.
Not necessarily looking for a morning person, nor someone with an advanced degree. But you'd need to enjoy the company of someone who has one, who reads lots, loves ideas, and has scads of energy to spare for painting, and much else besides.
I'm not for the faint of heart, and won't mind if you are not for the faint of heart, either.😌
