About him
I am passionate about getting a bargain, particularly at antiques auctions, antiques satisfy my interest in history. I appreciate having around me, and using in everyday life, things which have passed through many hands over the centuries; I get a thrill from using something that may have also been handled by someone centuries ago; if objects could talk. I am a member of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and I so like a bargain I buy the cheapest ticket and then get an upgrade to a more expensive one on the day, perhaps I shouldn't admit to that so readily. I love walking the dog in the local country park and walking with friends, relatively long distance, although I must confess to having had to cry off these walks for the past year with pressure of work but as I will be re-joining them very soon (!) do feel justified in adding this here. My family is very important to me. Work is also very important to me, sadly I feel that I am defined by work and would be reluctant to fully retire. I like the look of a nice garden although must confess to disliking gardening so much so that I have just laid an artificial lawn in the rear garden, so that any effort that I am prepared to put into gardening can be concentrated upon keeping the plants alive.

I hope that friends would describe me as loyal, certainly I will do anything for a true friend, even give them my last Rolo and I hope to find someone with at least two Rolos to share.
I try to help others less fortunate than I am, if only because there but for the grace of God and would like to meet someone with compassion.
I can be a bit fussy to whom I talk, often interpreted as being a bit aloof, but when I do I have a tendency to talk too much. I would like to find someone with whom I can have a good conversation but someone who equally understands that silence can also "speak volumes".
