About him
Originally from Vermont, I'm currently living in Taiwan, plan to move back to the U.S.A. to be closer to my parents; not necessarily the same state, but I'd like to reside on at least the same continent as them.
I like writing stories and poems and I enjoy the natural buzz I get from creating something new. And I enjoy writing old-fashioned letters to friends and family.
I'm financially stable--not super-rich, not by a long shot--but prefer to think of myself as Comfortably Ensconced within the 99%. I have zero debt in my life and I like trying to figure out how to make do with less clutter/junk/ and, yeah, I'm a used-clothing store freak!
I don't own a Smartphone. I use an 11 year-old Nokia flip phone that works just fine, thanks :-)
As for TV, I can take it or leave it, and I usually leave it. In fact, I don't even own a set. I'll watch a movie on my laptop or, better yet, catch one at a revival theater with a BIG screen.
I think that, even in reruns, "Peanuts" is still one of the funniest comic strips out there, while the casts of "Marvin," "Blondie," and "Gasoline Alley" ought to be taken out and shot.
I would like to further my education in the States, probably in writing or some other creative field. At the moment I pay my bills by working as an English tutor.
Random Life Skills Learned: Can drive standard shift, both column and stick--you never know when either may come in handy--and can ride a motorcycle. I can also chew gum and walk at the same time, which puts me miles ahead of the present GOP in Congress. I can also turn a cartwheel and stand on my head, if needed.
NOTE: I do not date Bisexuals. I do not date Trisexuals. I am not interested in Pansexuals, Fansexuals, Stansexuals (Hi, Stan!) or Octo-Groupsexuals. I am Monogamous and seek one mate, and that's it. Or if you want to get pseudo-spiritual about it: "I am the Lone Wolf (backlit by a bonfire) howling through the nebulous moonlit plain of Shakti-Farshon, in eternal search of his mate." Or something like that.
About his ideal match
At this point in life I feel that the Partner Whom I Am With is more important than the State In Which I Will Live. Taiwan has been good to me, but I must say that I've had enough of living in a concrete city with a humid climate. A location with some greenery nearby would be a ideal settling place for me. Also, someplace where I can get organic food whenever I want :-) and associate with like-minded creative people.
And as to what I am seeking in a relationship, it can be summed up very simply: I seek a sense of intimacy, and hopefully will encounter some mutual creativity as well. And I love the whole goofy romantic notion of playing Give and Receive with my partner in domesticated ways (to wit: I actually LIKE washing dishes!)
Work is important, but you also gotta make time for play or doing something to enrich yourself. I have no use for The Guys In Ties With Bleached Teeth who constantly yammer about how if you don't focus on become a billionaire RIGHT NOW, then the Cthulhu Death-Demon will drag you to its nether-hell.
I mean, seriously, has anyone in the history of the world EVER said (while breathing their last): "Gol-dang! I sure wish I'd spent more time at the office!" instead of--
--getting lost in a great book..
--floating on your back in the ocean...
--learning a new song...
--entwining with your lover in bed for HOURS...
--spending extra time with family or friends...
Aside from that old patent-hog Thomas Edison, I can't think of anyone!
