About him
Why should people get to know me? I don't know - its not for me to recommend it - although the people in my life who have got to know me so far seem to have survived reasonably well. Some seemed to have found it at least slightly entertaining .
I appear to be living my life backwards and am becoming an academic at this stage of my life having failed to get anything useful from my first flirtations with formal education. This means that I am always discovering new things and I suppose at least, that I usually have new stuff to talk about. My biggest faults (as pointed out by friends) are that I read too many books, have a tendency to be obsessive about pets, possess a conversational style which can come across as opinionated on subjects which I feel passionately about, am disorganised about money and there are probably others too numerous to mention.
On the plus side I know a lot of really good cycle tracks all over the place. However, I am definitely a "tea and cake" sort of cyclist rather than the "sweat and lycra" variety. I wear ordinary clothing and sit upright like a village curate. I often carry the paraphernalia of a complex picnic with me and set up a mini camp with friends in the middle of the New Forest or somewhere.
I suppose I would quite like to apply Douglas Adams' epithet about Earth to myself; "Mostly Harmless". That just about covers it.
About his ideal match
I have absolutely no preconceptions. I like all sorts of warm blooded mammals - including many humans. If pushed I would say that I prefer someone who feels that it is better to know you think than to think you know. Someone who isn't bigoted or hateful, who values kindness, empathy and love over wealth, power and other trivialities.
I am flexible about everything else I think. I don't care what you look like, where you live, how much money you have etc. Just be another mammal hoping to share some warmth - even if only virtually.
Ahh - one last thing occurs to me. I am not a big sport fan so I might find it hard spending too much time with someone who was.
If you play golf - then we definitely have no future together.
