About him
I'm 46, separated, a bit shy, sometimes serious, but with an offbeat sense of humour and slightly eccentric. Main interests: culture! Especially photography, the visual arts, music, film, but anything that stimulates the mind. More stuff: definitely a dog lover! I read a lot when I have the time. I like chocolate, chillies, coffee, the sound of running water in a forest, BBC Radio 6 (and sometimes 3), the Hook in south Wexford, The Wizard of Oz, films that don't make sense, secondhand bookshops, the Chester Beatty Library, St Stephen's Green on a quiet day, the view from Hungerford Bridge in London as the sun sets, cycling on a country road, dinner and drinks with a small number of close friends, and so forth. I work in catering, but I also take and develop my own photos with a ludicrously impractical large-format camera, and I'm working on a way to get paid for doing it!

I'm looking for someone who's interested in sharing the experiences that life has to offer, I suppose, whether it's a great exhibition, a walk on a wintry beach, or good food somewhere interesting (like Venice...). Someone who's passionate about culture, serious but with a sense of the absurd, a bit of a romantic, and aware that being older is no reason to lose your sense of wonder at life and its complexities!
