Well, yes. You never know how your humanity connects with another one's. There is ONE non-negotiable trait though as I see it when it comes to relationships (friendships, romantic relationships, whatever): Emotional intelligence.
I'd like my partner to also be an artistic person, to have specific looks, to be interested in language, to watch the some shows as I do etc. etc. But that's all optional if our humanity vibes in some fitting way. Emotional Intelligence though is a pre-requisite to be able to have intelligent, meaningful conversations, to understand some basic issues about the human condition, to not bother with unnecessary fights about illusional problems that only exist due to lack of psychological comprehension.
