I live in a campervan!
Hey, it's better than it sounds. And I'm no crusty! It's strangely lovely in fact... My Dad worked in a car factory most of his life - but regretted not living in a horse-drawn gypsy caravan, living a simple, rootless life working just enough to buy the essentials.
No horse, but I've kind of drifted into that lifestyle almost unconsciously - and towards the kind of beautiful landscape that makes it all worthwhile. It's blissful and it's liberating - and my life revolves around surfing (longboard), music, learning the drumkit, dancing and painting, but there's one problem: doing it all on my own, I find I don't REMEMBER stuff. Music? Ok, here goes: FUNK. Seventies funk and funk/disco; the greatest dance music there ever has been or will ever be. I'm so emphatic that I have the greatest taste in this, my New Years resolution is to do my first (even if it's the last) dj set this year, somewhere, somehow. And there's more: Stevie Wonder, Foo Fighters, Rage Against The Machine, Green Day, The Beatles, The Eagles, The Beach Boys (WAY more to them than bubblegum pop.), Fleet Foxes, The Staves, slide guitar blues, Bluegrass, French impressionist classical: Ravel, Satie, Debussy (Oooh, get me!), 50s/ 60s jazz: Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Bill Evans etc, Steely Dan, Crowded House, late 90s R n B and Hip Hop... and so on and so forth.
