I live a life of extremes - very sociable at work and in the pub, but then home to write my novel, read and potter in the garden with my labrador. Love living alone but would be nice to have another creative type to bounce ideas and wine (could get messy)! I'm quite feisty and laugh a lot, love open fires (I've got two in my cottage), history, cooking and drinking and having a houseful of friends enjoying life, music and talking rubbish.

Someone who reads and/or writes would be lovely, but I've got no truck with pretentious men or arts snobs. A music lover (mainly rock and dance, obscure stuff as well as classics) would be a nice find. I really like stylish people who are interested in clothes (not necessarily fashion, just style) and take care of their appearance. Confidence is a huge plus, as is an aptitude for 'manly' stuff like DIY (I run the family ironmongers so am used to blokey types!) though it's not essential.
