About him
These days I am very much 'bi-cultural', having lived for many years in the States. I returned to the UK for family reasons and ended up deciding to stay. And no, I didn't vote for Donald Trump...
During my 25 years in the US lived East Coast, West Coast and places in between! My favorite place to live was Chicago, but the sun and sand of Southern California is not far behind :).
I enjoy international travel and exploring other cultures, and have plans to travel extensively. Since returning to Europe to live I've very much enjoyed exploring Vilnius, Prague, Athens and my new favourite city, Copenhagen. Places I have yet to visit include Cuba, New Zealand and India. Sadly my trip to Cuba was a victim of the health crisis, but I'm hopeful I'll make it there in the not too distant future!
I'm interested in all the arts — dance, music and visual arts, but particularly theatre. I'm in London on a regular basis at art galleries, museums and street markets, finishing the day at the theatre. I'm a big fan of the Tate Modern, The National Theatre, Young Vic, Almeida...but also the smaller theatres too!
I have worked for many years in theatre as a director, one time designer, and an educator. I'm also a keen photographer.
I don't watch a great deal of mainstreamTV, but I enjoy NTLive, Netflix and Amazon ; I've enjoyed the various Scandi-noir series and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel; while I have recently revisited classics such as The Wire, Tremé and Deadwood.
After reading a lot of non-fiction in recent years it has been great to get back to enjoying some excellent novels.
I used to play competitive sport, but these days I walk several miles most days and I'm content to spectate at the odd game of rugby.
While I feel strongly about issues of social equality, and value compassion and tolerance, I have a quick wit and a sense of the absurd. Perhaps due to too much Monty Python growing up :).
