About him
...ring any bells? Of course, I don't really get half-drunk at night, but you might catch me lying awake sometimes, contemplating life, contemplating fate. I am a friendly, quiet, thoughtful, sensitive, highly intelligent person, with a love of high-quality art. I love classical music - Beethoven is probably my favourite, but I adore Schubert also. I also love Chopin, Bach, Ravel, Liszt and others. Piano music is probably my 'specialty'.
I love great films also - old films, 'Arthouse' films, films which are great. My favourite director is Ingmar Bergman, whose films are sublime, and I also love Bela Tarr, Andrei Tarkovsky, Luis Bunuel, Yasujiro Ozu, Nicholas Roeg, Peter Greenaway, Carl Dreyer, Stanley Kubrick, Satyajit Ray and others.
I love to read great books - The Sound and The Fury, Lolita, Brave New World, In Cold Blood, If This is a Man are the ones I've enjoyed the most.
I enjoy classical music concerts, of course, as I said, I am mostly a pianophile, (or perhaps a 'Pianorak'). I enjoy the theatre also, Samuel Beckett being someone I absolutely adore.
I have a strong interest in poetry also, as well as philosophy and psychology. My hobbies include gardening and cookery - I love to cook foods from other countries, especially oriental food.

My ideal match is someone who has similar intersts to me, basically, - someone who enjoys classical music concerts, going to the theatre, and watching great films. Somebody who is quiet and thoughtful, who begins many sentences with 'I think that..' Somebody who likes deep, intelligent conversation. Somebody who wants to be listened to. Somebody who doesn't mind eating the delicious food I can cook.
